The Altar Society has been in existence in Muskogee for over 100 years. 
The purpose of this ladies group is to give glory to God and promote devotion to his Blessed Mother. 
The Society maintains and cares for the needs of the altar, sanctuary and sacristy. 
They also provide a channel through which the pastor may reach all the women of the parish.

The Society provides bereavement dinners for families of anyone deceased in the parish. 
The Society also oeprates the religious articles case at St. Joseph Church. 
The Sunshine Committee sends out get-well, thiking of you cards, 
and cards condolence to members of our parish.  

The Altar Society organizes a Sunday afternoon "Social" every year in September.  
This allows the ladies of the parish to come out and meet new friends
 and get acquainted with the  Altar Society. 
 Thereafter, meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month from 
October through May at 5:15 p.m.  All ladies of the parish are considered members.

The Altar Society has two major fundraisers per year. 
On the first Saturday of December, we have our Cookie/Candy Sale,
 and on the fourth Thursday in April we have our Quiche/Salad Luncheon. 
The proceeds of these fundraisers are used to purchase altar wine, hosts, altar cloths, candles, server robes, priest’s vestments, and many other needs of the altar or pastor.
